Vinitaly Russia: exponential growth May 2005 In the end of May Moscow hosted the second edition of Vinitaly Russia. It is an export version of famous annual fare in Verona. It looks like it will now be regularly held in Russia as well.
Having modestly started with 26 producers last year, this time Vinitaly Russia gathered a considerable number of participants over a hundred! The exposition was divided into three zones general; Grandi Marchi producers and those representing Brunello di Montalchino. Excellent preparation and communication have done their job. The event attracted big numbers of visitors, both from the capital and from the regions.
Two high-end seminars were held within Vinitaly Russia. One was organized by Federdoc, the national confederation of Italian wine consortia, the other by the Institute of great Italian wines Grandi Marchi.
At present there are 18 reputed members in Grandi Marchi. The seminar saw participation from Gianfranco Bonetti, Italian Ambassador in Russia, Massimo Mamberti, director of Institute of Foreign Trade and Giovanni Mantovani, owner of Veronafiere, the company responsible for Vinitaly.
