 Expo dei Sapori Exhibition of Tastes November 2005 An enogasronomic salon Expo dei Sapori was held in Milan from 4 to 7 November.
The exhibition was born four years ago. Its main idea is to showcase artisanal products of small Italian producers.
The tasty event featured traditional products from all over Italy. There were cheeses, sausages, mushrooms, dairy products, confectionery and lots of other food as well as wine, beer, liqueur, grappa and other beverages. Stands were grouped by region thus giving an opportunity to see all specialisms of a particular Italian territory. Lombardy as a hostess was the most hospitable. It was represented by the biggest number of producers.
A separate exposition was arranged as olive oil salon Il Salone dellOlio which was more like a big yellow-green street that gathered olive oil from all corners of Italy.
The exhibition also featured a tasting "Hundred top wines of Italy". The wines were selected by Italian experts Paolo Massobrio and Marco Gatti. The event was organized and run by Club di Papillon which promotes Italian enogastronomic culture.
During the weekend the exhibition was open for the public and turned into a real fair. Italians could taste foods and wines and buy them at the spot. No one left empty handed.
