Chirac’s Cellar sold

London-based Antique Wine Company has sold a collection of fine wines amassed during Chirac’s time as Mayor of Paris.

The 362-bottle collection included various vintages of champagne Krug, Burgundian Domaine de la Romanee Conti, Bordeaux Grand Crus — Lafite, Mouton, Margaux, Haut Brion as well as Petrus and Haut Brion Blanc. Linley, a renowned London design studio, created a scale model Paris City Hall case, crafted in the finest precious woods, by the company’s commission. The best wines of the City Hall, dubbed as Chirac’s Cellar, were sold for a hefty sum of 300,000 pounds (600,000 dollars).
