Best sommelier of the world

The Swedish Andreas Larsson has won The Best Sommelier of the World competition organized by the International Sommelier Association (ASI).

The other finalists were Paolo Basso (Switzerland), Gerard Basset (United Kingdom) and Eric Zwiebel (France). In total, over 40 sommeliers took part, each representing a separate country. During three days the judges tested participants’ knowledge of historic, economical, technical and administrative aspects of wine, and other alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Thirty-five-year-old Larsson already holds the numerous titles of Best Sommelier of Sweden, as well as Best Sommelier of Europe-2004 and Wine International Sommelier-2005.
