 Wine Future 2009 May 2009 Wine Future 2009, a new high profile event, has been announced for the autumn this year. It is set to embrace current issues of the global wine industry. During two days leading industry operators and experts will be discussing what’s happening within the industry today, as well as what it will be facing in the near future. Some of the topics include winemaking in the global economic crisis; young and emerging markets; improving wine consumption and sales; wine education and the role of wine critics; fairs and competitions; importance of brands, etc.
The speakers were chosen among key wine producers and distributors, independent experts and critics. The speakers list features, among others, Mel Dick, Southern Wines & Spirits vice-president; Dan Jago, Tesco Stores category director for beers, wines and spirits; Baudouin Havaux, Concours Mondial de Bruxelles president; Matheiu Chadronnier, CVBG general manager; Troy Christensen, Constellation Brands Europe president; Dmitry Pinsky, DP-Trade founder and co-owner. Robert Parker, Jancis Robinson, Steven Spurrier and other independent experts and critics will also take part.
Along with a programme of seminars, Wine Future offers a trade show area and a tasting conducted by Robert Parker.
Wine Future 2009 is launched and organised by the Wine Academy of Spain. The event will be held once every two years. The first congress will take place 12-13 November in Spain, Logrono. Around 500 delegates from 40 countries are expected.
